House Bill 60 for Seniors

You Can Have a Whole Lot of Fun When You're Old Enough!

If you're 62 or older and a resident of Utah, you may audit many regular University classes numbered 1000-4999 for a mere $25 per semester in addition to any special fee attached to the class.

Known as House Bill 60, the program is just the ticket for seniors who want to keep current in their fields they know and love or learn something new.

How Do I Register?

Join us on open registration day at the Annex. Come to the Annex building, A Wing, North Entrance (Continuing Education registration area) on Tuesday, January 5 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm to register for Spring 2010 semester classes.

To register for classes after January 5, visit Continuing Education at 1185 Annex Building, or call 801-581-7155.

Important Dates

• Tues, Jan 5 - Registration begins
• Mon, Jan 11 - Classes begin
• Wed, Jan 20 - Last day to drop classes
• Mon, Jan 25 - Last day to add classes
  (if you add a class between Jan 18 and Jan 25, you must obtain a "permission code" from the instructor before you can register for the class. A permission code does not guarantee registration in the class. Please see enrollment restrictions below.)

Class Information

For a list of courses available to HB 60 students, please follow this link (PDF file).

Enrollment restrictions include: Writing, Computer Science, AOCE, and upper division business classes. Some departments may restrict registration for individual classes. Enrollment is also restricted in classes that are full. There are a limited number of seats available to HB60 students in each class section.

Other classes for learners age 50 and over - the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Join a dynamic community of adults over 50 years of age who understand that life is enhanced through learning. Get your UCARD Today!

House Bill 60 students can receive a University ID card. You will need this ID for library privileges. Visit their website at www.ucard.utah.edu, or come to the UCard Office (154 Union) or call 801-581-2273 for more information. There is a $10 fee for your first card.
