Nutrition Intervention in Treatment and Prevention of Chronic Disease ( NUTR 3010 )
In this online Independent Study course, nutritional biochemistry and cellular homeostasis are integrated with nutrition intervention in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. Designed for students anticipating a career in health care. NOTE: Students must make personal arrangements for biochemical and anthropometrical testing (blood pressure, body composition, iron status, cholesterol, etc.) in order to participate in this course. These tests can be done either in the Nutrition Clinic on the University of Utah campus or at a doctor's office.
Prerequisite: BIOL 1210, BIOL 2325 Recommended Co-Requisite: BIOL 2420
Class Note: Students taking this online course must have: a computer and Internet connection; at least a basic understanding of Internet navigation; an email address and the ability send and receive email attachments; and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
